Why Change a Winning Formula?
We have tried many ways to make a soap that can help remove make up using our traditional recipe. However, the mixture of the 4 oils has prevented the soap from creating a rich creamy lather to wash off the make up.
So we went back to basics to understand how we could create a soap that could help to remove make up. This led us back to one of our favourite oils – coconut oil. This awesome oil is amazing at helping to remove make up and so we adjusted the formulation to be a to take make up but still create a soft and gentle soap.
- Olive Oil – Whilst Olive Oil hydrates the skin, it is also responsible for a significant proportion of the lather effect of the soap in the 4 oil recipe, so this soap needed to have olive oil
- Coconut oil – Coconut Oil is the magic ingredient in our soaps and allows the soap to not just hydrate but to also nourish the skin. We are also lucky because it is one of the most lathering oils in our recipe.
- Castor Oil – This oil has so many good things going for it. It is wonderfully moisturising and hydrating for your skin and it also creates small bubbles perfect for lathering when washing. It is for this reason that we include Castor oil in both our fisherman’s oil and our shaving soaps.

How our 4 Oil Formula helps?
Your new baby has sensitive skin and so needs to have a gentle cleansing soap that keeps their skin soft, hydrated and nourished.
Our delicate baby soap uses only 5 ingredients to help do this and nothing more.
Grapeseed Oil and Olive Oil are both hydrating oils which gently hydrate the skin and moisturise to keep your child’s skin supple and soft.
Canola oil is rich in Vitamin E and thus gently nourishes your baby’s skin. It also contains Omega 3 and Omega 6 Fatty Acids which help to soothe dry and irritable skin.

How our 4 Oil Formula helps?

Clean hands when fishing – Soap that lathers in seawater
Saltwater has an interesting effect on soap. If you use normal household soap, which lathers well at home, and take it to use in the sea, you will have absolutely no lather at all because of the high salt levels in the sea prevent the normal soap from lathering.
So we made this soap differently. We still combine all-natural oils but in this soap, we have used oils which easily produce a good lather so that it can overcome the right sodium chloride or salt in the sea, and create a rich lather than can help you wash your hands.

How Activated Charcoal helps
Acne is caused when your sebaceous glands (which are at the base of fine hair follicles) are blocked. This prevents sebum (the chemical that keeps your skin healthy and moisturised), produced by the sebaceous gland, from escaping and so it builds up under your skin.
This build-up along with the dead skin cells and bacteria in your skin get trapped and your body tries to fix it by sending more blood to the area.
The spot that develops is full of sebum – which is the white part and is inflamed due to to the extra blood and therefore tender to touch.
SoapOman’s Activated Charcoal is made from Coconut husks to help cleanse your skin with its very high surface to volume ratio means it is extremely absorbent and attracts dirt particles.
